ਯਸ਼ਾਯਾਹ 66:10-14
10 ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜੋ
ਯੇਰੂਸ਼ਲੇਮ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਕਰੋ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਸੋਗ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਅਨੰਦਿਤ
ਹੋਵੋ!
11 ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ
ਖੁਸ਼ਹਾਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਾਣੋਗੇ, ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੱਚਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਧ ਚੁੰਘਦਾ ਹੈ।
12 ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਖੁਸ਼ਹਾਲੀ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ, ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਪੱਤੀ
ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵੱਲ ਉਸ ਦਰਿਆ ਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਵਧੇਗੀ, ਜੋ ਕਦੀ ਸੁੱਕਦਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਬੱਚੇ ਦੇ ਵਾਂਗ
ਹੋਵੋਗੇ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਨਾ
ਪੋਸ਼ਣਾ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਨੇ
ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਬਾਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਬੜੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਵੇ।
13 ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਯੇਰੂਸ਼ਲੇਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਸੱਲੀ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ, ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਾਂ
ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
14 ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਦੇਖੋਗੇ, ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਖੁਸ਼
ਹੋਵੋਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ
ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਹਤ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ। ਤਦ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਜਾਣ ਜਾਵੋਗੇ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ
ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।”

ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹਤ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ
ਨਿਆਣਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਪਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

ਮੱਤੀ 18:1-5
1 ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਚੇਲੇ
ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਪੁੱਛਣ ਲੱਗੇ, ‘ਸਵਰਗ–ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ?’
2 ਉਸਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਬੱਚੇ
ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੋਲ ਸੱਦ ਕੇ, ਉਸਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕੀਤਾ
3 ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਤੁਸੀਂ
ਬਦਲ ਕੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣੋਗੇ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਵਰਗ-ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਦੀ
ਦਾਖਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੋਗੇ।
4 ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਬੱਚੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਨਿਮਰ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਵਰਗ-ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ
ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ।
5 ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਅਜੋਕੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ
ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।”
First Reading
Is 66:10-14
10 “Rejoice with
Jerusalem, and be glad for her,
all you who love
her;
rejoice with her
in joy,
all you who mourn
over her;
11 that you may suck and be satisfied
with her consoling
breasts;
that you may drink
deeply with delight
from the abundance
of her glory.”
12 For thus says the Lord:
“Behold, I will
extend prosperity to her like a river,
and the wealth of
the nations like an overflowing stream;
and you shall
suck, you shall be carried upon her hip,
and dandled upon
her knees.
13 As one whom his mother comforts,
so I will comfort
you;
you shall be
comforted in Jerusalem.
14 You shall see, and your heart shall
rejoice;
your bones shall
flourish like the grass;
and it shall be
known that the hand of the Lord is with his servants,
and his
indignation is against his enemies.

Mt 18:1-5
1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who is the
greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
2 And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them,
3 and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like
children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
4 Whoever humbles himself like this child, he is the greatest in
the kingdom of heaven.
5 “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me.

ਅਯੂਬ 3:1-3, 11-17, 20-23
1 ਅੱਯੂਬ ਨੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਖੋਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਨਮ ਦਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਾਪ
ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਅੱਯੂਬ :
2-3 ਜਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਮੈਂ ਜਨਮ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਨਾਸ਼ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ, ਜਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ
ਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਰਭ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਇਆ, ਉਹ ਨਾਸ਼ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ।
11 ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੁੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਉ ਨਾ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਨਮ ਦੀ
ਘੜੀ ਹੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਾ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ?
12 ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੋਦ ਕਿਉਂ ਖਡਾਇਆ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਧ
ਕਿਉਂ ਚੁੰਘਾਇਆ।
13 ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ, ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ, ਸਮੇਂ ਅਰਾਮ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ
ਹੁੰਦਾ।
14 ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਅਰਾਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨ
ਸਮੇਂ ਦੇ ਖੰਡਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਸੀ।
15 ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰਾ ਵਾਂਗ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਜੋ ਸੋਨੇ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ
ਘਰ ਭਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
16 ਜਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਬੱਚੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੁੰਦਾ, ਜੋ ਜਨਮ ਸਮੇਂ ਹੀ
ਮਰਿਆ ਸੀ।
17 ਕਬਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਦੇ ਬੁਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਵੀ ਬੰਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਥੱਕੇ-ਮਾਂਦੇ
ਉੱਥੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਅਰਾਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
20 ਪੀੜਤ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਵਨ ਕਿਉਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਦੁੱਖਤ ਨੂੰ ਲੋ
ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਉਂ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ।
21 ਉਹ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਦੀ, ਉਹ ਖਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ
ਕਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਅਧਿਕ ਪਸੰਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
22 ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੌਤ ਸਮੇਂ, ਬਹੁਤ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦੇ
ਹਨ।
23 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਗੁਪਤ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਾਰੇ
ਪਾਸੇ ਵਾੜ ਲਾ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੈ।
ਜ਼ਬੂਰ 87:2-8 (A-235)
ਉਹ ਸੀਓਨ ਪਹਾੜ
ਉਤਲੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਅਧਿਕ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਲੂਕਾ 9:51-56
51 ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਉਤਾਂਹ ਉਠਾ ਲਏ ਜਾਣ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਨੇੜੇ ਆਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਸਨੇ
ਯੇਰੂਸ਼ਲੇਮ ਜਾਣ ਦਾ ਤਹੱਈਆ ਕੀਤਾ।
52 ਉਸਨੇ ਹਰਕਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੋਂ ਅਗੇਤਾ ਘੱਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਪਈ ਉਸਦੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ
ਤਿਆਰੀ ਕਰਨ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ
ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਹੋਏ।
53 ਪਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਸੁਆਗਤ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸਨੇ ਯੇਰੂਸ਼ਲੇਮ ਜਾਣ
ਦਾ ਰੁਖ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।
54 ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ, ਯਾਕੂਬ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਹੰਨਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ
ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ
ਹੋ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਅਸਮਾਨੋਂ ਅੱਗ ਵਰ੍ਹਣ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਦੇਈਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਸਮ ਕਰ ਦੇਈਏ, (ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ
ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ)?’
55 ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਮੁੜਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਝਿੜਕਿਆ। (‘ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ
ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਰੂਹ ਦੇ ਹੋ;
56 ਕਿਉਂਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਨਾਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਗੋਂ
ਬਚਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ।’) ਫਿਰ ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਪਿੰਡ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਲੇ ਗਏ।

Job 3:1-3, 11-17, 20-23
1 Job opened his mouth and cursed the day of his birth.
2 And Job said:
3 “Let the day perish wherein I was born,
and the night which said,
‘A man-child is conceived.’
11 “Why did I not die at birth,
come forth from the womb and
expire?
12 Why did the knees receive me?
Or why the breasts, that I
should suck?
13 For then I should have lain down and been quiet;
I should have slept; then I
should have been at rest,
14 with kings and counselors of the earth
who rebuilt ruins for
themselves,
15 or with princes who had gold,
who filled their houses with
silver.
16 Or why was I not as a hidden untimely birth,
as infants that never see the
light?
17 There the wicked cease from troubling,
and there the weary are at
rest.
20 “Why is light given to him that is in misery,
and life to the bitter in
soul,
21 who long for death, but it comes not,
and dig for it more than for
hid treasures;
22 who rejoice exceedingly,
and are glad, when they find
the grave?
23 Why is light given to a man whose way is hid,
whom God has hedged in?

to Jerusalem.
52 And he sent messengers ahead of him, who went and entered a village of
the Samaritans, to make ready for him;
53 but the people would not receive him, because his face was set toward
Jerusalem.
54 And when his disciples James and John saw it, they said, “Lord, do you
want us to bid fire come down from heaven and consume them?”
55 But he turned and rebuked them.
56 And they went on to another village.
